Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy sessions are individually tailored to each client; however, there are similarities in the start and finish of therapy that go across the board.

During your first session, the focus is on you and your provider getting to know each other and learn your background history, as well as identify your goals for future therapy sessions.

Future therapy sessions will focus on addressing your goals for therapy and can be an ever-changing process as new stressors or concerns come up.

Counseling works best within the framework of a safe and trusted therapeutic alliance. Since it takes time to build this relationship with your therapist, we recommend committing to weekly sessions for at least 8 weeks.

Research shows that consistency adds to the positive outcomes of therapy. Once you reach your 8-week goal, you and your therapist can discuss a frequency of sessions that will support your continued success.

If you need to pause sessions for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible. Each session is specifically reserved for you and it is important for us to know if your recurring schedule needs to change or be adjusted. When the time is right for you, we will help you get back on track with recurring appointments. You can contact us via phone or email anytime.

If you need emergency support, please contact 911 or please visit this website, https://www.hca.wa.gov/health-care-services-supports/behavioral-health-recovery/mental-health-crisis-lines, for local crisis line information.

Your session time is reserved specifically for you, therefore we ask for 24hrs advance notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. You can cancel through your client portal, by calling us at 206-620-1423 or email [email protected].

If you need to cancel or reschedule with less than 24hrs notice, there is a $185 late cancel fee that is not covered by health insurance. Please contact us for further information.

Most couples therapy involves some initial counseling with each person separately, so if you have concerns over a relationship issue you can start with relationship counseling for individuals. However if your main concern is almost totally with something your partner does, but you can’t seem to discuss it or come to a solution on your own, then going to counseling with your partner may be the best solution.

The initial assessment is $250 and follow up sessions are $185. Please let us know if you need to cancel.

A cancelation with less than 24 hours notice has a fee of $125. You can cancel via the Client Portal, by calling us at 206-620-1423 or by emailing [email protected].

Many insurance providers cover telehealth services. However, telehealth coverage varies widely from state to state with differences in how telehealth is defined and paid for. Because insurance coverage policies differ, it’s important to check directly with insurance provider.

In-Network means that the provider has a contract agreement with the insurance company. Patients seeing an in-network provider are responsible for anything not covered by their plan at the time of service (i.e. copays, deductibles, and coinsurance).

Out-of-Network means that the provider does not have a contract agreement with that insurance company. Patients seeing an out-of-network provider are responsible for the whole cost of care at the time of service, and may be eligible to receive reimbursement from their insurance company.
